An observation from long ago...

Stay away from a dessert called Kastamonu Cekme Helvasi...don't be fooled into thinking you'll like it just because it is pistachio flavor (antep fistikli)...it looks much like Turkish Delight but is very, very dry. It was described by one of our guests as sucking the moisture from your palate. The texture is almost like compressed cotton candy. Anyway, I've been saving the box just to record the name and the memory of the driest food ever. It comes from Yukseller Fazli Yuksel Halefleri (Since 1954!). We'll need to try something else on their menu next time.
