Aeden finally got to open birthday presents this morning! He had a great time, and appropriately oohed and aahed over each one. He went straight to work playing with his "choo choo" and struggling his way through learning that trains with multiple cars must be pulled by the engine, not pushed by the caboose. He's working on it, and has been more successful if we only give him two at a time. We're getting him ready to play with the Thomas the Tank Engine trains we have at home ready and waiting for a certain little 2-year-old boy to use them!
We did more packing and sorting today, and then I packed off the kids to Cepa for a diversion. We found some of our favorite photos of Ataturk to bring home and some new cross-stitch kits to occupy the girls after school is out and on the airplane. We happened on a photography exhibit of Ankara and enjoyed seeing places we recognized and scenes we haven't captured on "film" for ourselves. After some lollipops and window shopping, we hit the kiosk selling waffles and crepes for a treat. Only, they didn't have any crepes. Oh well. Lacey had a waffle spread thick with Nutella and sliced strawberries...it made my mouth water. Watch out waffle iron, we're going to put you to work when we get home!
