Friday, May 29

The drama teacher said she thought I was a natural with the kids, with a quiet way of getting them to pay attention and keeping control of the class, and couldn't believe that I am 33 and not in my 20's with Aeden as my first child. A nice little conversation to start off the day!

Today was our tenth wedding anniversary. We left the kids at home with Becky and headed out on our own! We ended up having a quick dinner at Armada and then watched Angels & Demons at the Armada movie theater--my first movie in a Turkish theater! I can almost ignore the subtitles finally (from watching them at home), but we couldn't ignore the abrupt stopping of the movie halfway through for an intermission and ads on the screen. It was excellent to be out without the kids, and the movie was fun to watch after being to so many ruins this year (the movie takes place in Rome and Vatican City, but this year has certainly given me a different and stronger appreciation for old buildings and history).

A self-portait ten years, 3 kids, and halfway around the world later...

We've made it 10 years. So long and so short all at once. I'm looking forward to the next 10!
