Friday, October 31 "Halloween...or is it?"

Half day at school for girls (end of quarter). Dinner at Yilpiz Aspava (in the shopping center down the block). Found cheesy bread that Maren likes (Kasarli Pide...so Kasar cheese in the grocery store. Bingo! I like it too, so we finally found a good snack cheese!) Appetizer soup of cucumber and yogurt, which Aeden would have kept on eating all night if we let him, at least until he tasted the meat again and ate that continuously. You would think I never fed him at home, but I swear I do. This is the restaurant we walk by every time we go downstairs in the same building to the grocery store. Lacey requested a picture with the meat carver, and he was happy to oblige.

The girls and I went Trick-or-treating with Meggie and Lizzie in C-Blok, but no costumes...save the elf hat and santa hat from Nancy! Aeden too tired so he slept through it, though the bruise on his forehead could've worked as a Harry Potter costume.

Here's Paul handing out some goodies...he's great with the kids. He dropped Maren's candy outside the edge of Maren's bag and onto the floor over and over again and got all four of them giggling.

I got a quick intro to many of the foreign teachers in C-Blok during our Trick-or-Treating. Lori has a 6-month-old daughter with a birthday of May 7 and Lori loves Anne of Green Gables. I mentioned that I had gone to Prince Edward Island in August and she said, "Oh, isn't it beautiful there?". Later I learned that she's Canadian, so I don't have to be quite so surprised that she's been there too! Meggie has a DVD of Anne and she and Lacey have already started watching together. We also met Maria, stopped at Rosie and Jenny's, and a few others I'm sure I'll meet again. It was too many to remember from one night!

Tim invited us in for a bit after our walk, and I was horrified to realize that I had not put any socks on, so now I was stuck taking off my crocs and being barefoot. Oh my, crazy American.
