Sunday, October 26 "Merry-Go-Round"

I dragged the whole family to Arjantin Kebap for lunch and showed Brian and the girls the stores that Aeden and I had visited on 36 and 37 Cadde. The market was in full swing, and we stopped to buy some string, buttons, and yarn...the things you take for granted at home just being there with no known origin. A little bundle of black linen string for 1 YTL, a bundle of 6 buttons for 1 YTL, a skein of fancy yarn for 2 YTL. We were much smarter with the produce and indicated how many kilos by providing exact change. Watch us learn!

Mountain of Mandarins...Brian's in heaven!

The girls and I stopped at a playground on the way home and they spun on the merry-go-round. A little too long. Lacey was quite sick to her stomach on the rest of the walk home...
There are see-saws at every playground here

Our own whirling dervishes

The other childrens' dad was spinning them...I think they were smiling, but maybe it was just the centripetal force pulling at their cheeks...

The "shortcut" road we take on the walk to the local produce market on Sundays...a step into a local neighborhood instead of our high-rise pocket of cleanliness. The photo doesn't show the garbage in the corners and the tossed out couches on the porches. But it does show the umbrellas and flags on the balconies...Algida advertisements (essentially like seeing a Nestle or Dreyers umbrella or banners on your neighbor's balcony).

We had some new cozies to try out after our shopping...new fleece blankets today and bathrobes from yesterday. We had some fun with them, and Aeden rolled himself around in the soft blankets on the floor for quite a while. He loves the cuddly blankets!
